Roland Hemming - Principal Audio Consultant, Projects & Products Mastermind

    Roland Hemming is an audio consultant and project manager. His extremely wide experience enables him to advise on many aspects of audio.

    He project-managed the two largest audio projects in Europe; the Millennium Dome and the 2012 Olympic Games.

    His 28-year career in the industry has taken him to live events, construction sites, hotels, rail, cruise ships, theatre, corporate AV, broadcast, education and stadia.

    For the 2012 Olympic Games he was Venue Technology Manager for Audio, working for LOCOG, the London Organising Committee. He was responsible for all Games audio except Ceremonies. This included the delivery of over 400 audio systems, liaising with and giving advice to many interested parties on issues as diverse as rigging, broadcast, radio spectrum, audio for crowd safety, disability and compliance.

    For the new millennium he was Head of Sound for the world’s largest sound system installation project, the Millennium Dome in London.

    He helps manufacturers develop new audio products and, as a digital audio networking expert, is helping to develop and introduce the next generation of audio networking systems.

    He is a leader in issues concerning voice alarm compliance including EN 54. He sits on the British Standards committee FSH12/5 as UK expert on audio alarms, European committee TC 72 WG23 for EN 54 also as expert audio alarms and he is chairman of BS 7827 committee sound systems for sports grounds. He co-wrote the Installation Europe guide to voice alarm systems.

    In 1990, Roland set up the UK’s first ever show control facility for computer control of sound and lighting systems in the technology’s infancy. That was followed by work as a production manager for a variety of live events and conferences in the UK and Europe, and project manager and consultant for numerous technical installations on land and at sea. He has also set up and run an audio installation company. Other notable projects include: Lord's Cricket Ground, Royal Ascot Racecourse, Al Ain Stadium, Twickenham Rugby Stadium, St Pancras Station and Harrods. He sits on the IET Standards committee - Code of Practice for Connected Systems Integration in Buildings .

    He has presented papers to the Audio Engineering Society and been an advisor to InfoComm. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences, and a judge for many industry awards. He is regular author of articles for industry magazines.

    Roland is a member the AES and ISCE.

    Richard Northwood - Principal AV Consultant, Design & Programming Guru

    Richard has 30 years experience in designing, building, commissioning and operating audio, video and lighting systems. He is leader in the use of networked audio and control systems.

    His work covers a wide range of projects from stadium audio to corporate video conferencing suites to interactive visitor attractions.

    He designs superior audio systems and produces acoustic models, detailed system schematics and all the information required to execute a project.

    His worldwide reputation has established him as someone who will make things work when others cannot. He commissions and trouble shoots AV and audio systems with formidable reputation for being able to deal with the most technically complex projects.

    Clients and projects he has worked for include: Twickenham stadium, Ibrox stadium Glasgow, Wembley stadium; Morgan Stanley, Hong Kong Telecom, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, St Michaels Cave Gibr.altar, Nike Town in Berlin & London, Cyber Express Hong Kong, Le Meridian Bahrain; AI Faisaillah Riyadh, and the Chicago Beach Hotel Dubai. He was on the BS 7827 committee sound systems for sports grounds

    He frequently works with manufacturers helping them improve their products based on his experience using them on projects.

    Richard is a member the AES and ISCE.

    Tess Weller - Associate, Creative Tour de Force

    Tess began marketing in 2010 by supporting local businesses with their online presence and promotional graphics.

    Tess graduated from Bournemouth University where she studied Digital Media Design and experimented with anything from animation and film, to website design and programming. During her time at university she also completed freelance projects for small businesses and a work placement with a high fashion P.R. agency in London.

    She is now responsible for supporting the brand development of RH Consulting's clients. This can involve anything from website UI and promotional graphics to social media management and developing brand strategies.

    Marieke De Jonge - Administrative Queen

    Marieke was born in Amsterdam and has lived in a number of countries including Bolivia, USA, Serbia and Kenya, before settling in the UK. She has a degree in English and is currently studying for a degree in environmental studies. Marieke is the RH Consulting administrator.

    Steph Collie - Media Production Assistant, Content Khalessi

    Steph graduated from Nottingham Trent University where she studied Design for film and TV and has been working in graphic design ever since. She has a keen eye for detail which has lead her to progressively more artistic roles.

    Steph is assists in all things creative and daily produces vector graphics for animation videos and creating animation content. She lives in the Creative Cloud.
